“Mercy Kit” Project

We collected material for and assembled 50 Mercy Kits to assist the homeless.  The Mercy Kits contain blankets, hats, gloves, and toiletries, and are being distributed during the holiday season to those who are in the most need.  Through the distribution efforts, we have also been able to help some of the people we encounter  find resources to assist them with more urgent needs.  The Mercy Kit Project has prompted discussion of how we might continue assisting the homeless throughout the year, and efforts are now under way to develop an ongoing ministry to the homeless population of downtown Augusta.
